EGLWYSI DE CYNON
Life Events
Life is full of special moments, and our churches are here for you. Whether it’s a baptism, confirmation, wedding, or funeral, we offer a warm welcome and a sacred space for your important occasions. Get in touch—we’d love to support and celebrate with you and your loved ones at every stage of life.
Baptism
A baptism is a special moment in the life of the church, as we welcome new members into the Christian faith. It's an opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the beginning of a spiritual journey.
Everyone has the right to be baptised in the church where they live, regardless of whether they are a regular churchgoer or not. If you live in South Cynon Valley (Cwmbach to Abercynon), you can have your child baptised (or christened), or be baptised yourself, in any one of our churches.

Confirmation
Confirmation is a special step in your faith journey. It’s a chance for those baptised as babies to affirm their faith for themselves. Through prayer and the bishop’s blessing, we ask God to strengthen you with the Holy Spirit.
If you’re a teenager or adult who hasn’t been baptised but wants to commit to the Christian faith, you can be baptised and confirmed at the same time.
We hold a confirmation service each year, led by the Bishop of Llandaff, with a friendly and supportive preparation period beforehand. If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you!

Weddings
A church wedding is a beautiful, meaningful way to start your married life. In a sacred space, surrounded by love, you’ll make lifelong promises with God’s blessing. Our churches provide a beautiful and sacred setting for couples to exchange vows and seek God's blessings for their union.
Anyone who has a connection to our communities can get married in our churches, for example, you've lived here for six months or were baptised or confirmed in one of our churches.

Funerals
Our churches offer compassionate funeral services, providing a peaceful space for remembrance and comfort. Whether a traditional or personal service, we support families in honouring their loved ones with dignity. Our clergy are here to help with arrangements, offering guidance, prayers, and pastoral care during this difficult time.
